Fools Mate is funny

It was incredibly obvious (to anyone who's played chess) what was going to happen. It's still kind of funny though. It's funnier if (like I was doing) you play the Star Wars Imperial Death March in the background, dunno why. Nice tweening of the pieces.

It's funny!

Funny stuff, good parody. A nice comic diversion from the crap that gets submitted every day, and it's true, anything with that music is just hilarious!

Plain awful

Whilst I don't share the same tone as some previous reviewers, this was just rubbish. The movie consists of one picture with CokeClock. Infinitely looped. That's it. How anyone can find this slightly entertaining I don't know.

Surprising ending

Stick walks along to car, gets in car and then there's an unexpected finish to it. Amusing, but all in all too short. The scream of pain was quite annoying as well. At least it's well animated.

OK clock short

I'm giving this a four - had nice graphics, didn't make a whole lot of sense but it had enough in it to get an OK score. Not massively funny, also the infinite loop is annoying. I've seen better clock movies but I've seen worse as well, very middle of the road.

Good selection of stick pain

There's a simple idea in use here, there's five different comic and painful ways for a stickman to fail to jump from one building to another. The sound loop was good, but I couldn't figure out whether the initial running animation looked lifelike or simply crap and confusing. The final failure was the funniest, but they were all funny to some extent. It's been done before but it's not a bad movie to watch.

Needed more time spending on it

You say this is quickly made - what you did isn't too bad. The injury is comic, and somewhat amusing. But apart from that the flash is lacking - there's no background and the rest of the graphics are basic, the sounds are incredibly quiet and it's too short. With a bit more effort it could have been a lot better, as it is, it's an OK skater mocking short.

OK I guess

Needed some sound desperately, but apart from that it's OK. A couple of funny moments where there's comic violence. I can't help feeling it would have been better if there were some backgrounds or the sticks were clearer to see, it all looks very arty but I didn't like that.

OK short

Not a bad short, the character has potential and with some better storylines could go places. This story was simple and fairly funny. I liked the music which suited the film, although I agree with sk8boardclock that the background scenes could be better. If you do another, try adding a couple of characters to create some plot progression or something.

Well this was just the start, and it was abit dry with the story, i was going more for the different views shots, and the backrounds i thaught they were just fine, and in any series there has to allways be more then one character thats a must, anyways thanks for the review...

[Scorpion Melee]

Possibly the best sprite movie I've seen

This just looked like it could have come straight out of Mortal Kombat, only if MK had gone feral! Reminded me somewhat of the team battle mode on MK2, only massively crazy. The fight is very well thought out and oozes awesomeness out of every pore, and the preview at the end looks very promising as well. This is, quite possibly, the best sprite based movie I've seen on NG.
